Hyatt Regency – Amritsar, India

Hyatt Regency Amritsar

Room Type: Regency Suite
Stay: 2 Nights

At the time of booking this was the only decent choice in Amritsar.

Arrival

Hotel did not look too bad on arrival, modern style and next to a shopping mall.  Reception was busy so slow check in even with the agent who had met us at the airport.

Room

The original room booked was extremely small and not suitable for smoking so we decided to upgrade to a suite which was not too bad with decent size bathroom and separate sitting room.

Fairly clean and comfortable.

Size: 50 sqm

8 Restaurant - Superb Chinese Menu

Buffet style breakfast was adequate and the meal from room service was not too bad but we decided to try the top floor of the Shopping Mall next door for our other meal.

Service

Average, helpful with moving rooms.

Amenities

Swimming Pool - was too hot to even venture out there.

Spa - usual treatments, did not go.

Shopping Arcade - some interesting offerings

Restaurants / Bar

Punjab Palace - breakfast, lunch and dinner

Scotch Haus - bar with live music

Tarteria - homemade cakes and pastries to take away

lavish foyer with plenty of seating in the lobby lounge with tea and snacks on hand

Conclusion

Not a bad hotel but no way luxury.  There are a few more choices here now but as you are spending only a couple of nights then this is still a good option especially as you have the shopping mall next door to wander round in between sightseeing.

Jon was happy as there was a Royal Enfield shop at the Mall.
