Arrival
On arrival at Bagdogra Airport we were met by the driver from Glenburn who presented us with a letter detailing our journey and the hotel. Just over half way up the mountains we stopped at a viewpoint and were served Darjeeling Tea, sandwiches and cakes, what a wonderful treat and a much needed break from the twisting, winding roads. The rest of the journey did not seem as bad even when we bumped and twisted our way to the estate.
On arrival we were greeted by the english couple who managed the hotel and the stunning view over the mountains. More refreshments were served on the veranda of the main building and we were then taken down to our room which was located in another bungalow.
Room
Our room was lovely, traditional english style with antique furniture, huge bed and lots of windows with those amazing views. The bathroom was large with separate shower, bath, toilet and sink.
We were on the ground floor so could just walk outside whenever we wanted and just stare at the views. There was another room opposite ours and two above.

Dining
All meals, snacks and refreshments included.
Breakfast was served on a small terrace to the side of our bungalow with fresh cooked eggs, al a carte offerings and buffet choices.
Dinner is served in the dining room at the main bungalow and all guests sit round the table together.
No actual choices as the meals were themed, our first night was Indian which was excellent, the next night not so good for me but that was not due to quality just personal taste. We were then invited to a staff birthday party so food was plentiful and good.
Although I had reservations about having to eat with other guests, in our case it made the stay very memorable and enjoyable but if you do not wish to do this you can eat elsewhere or in your room.
We also had two afternoon teas which were good with obviously excellent tea and homemade cakes.
