After another terrifying journey from Pelling to Gangtok we arrive at the Mayfair for one night.
Arrival
An extremely busy hotel with a Thai does disney entrance area. Mr Shu does his thing while we again wait outside for a while and we are taken to our room through a maze of corridors and stairs and by this time we are slightly dazed and bewildered, it was a miracle we found our way back out.
Room
A decent sized bedroom room, fairly clean and comfortable with a huge empty bathroom of a similar size with a wardrobe, sink, toilet and bath.
We did have a good size balcony which would have been really nice except for the smell of human urine.
Size: 26 sqm

Dining
Here’s where there was a surprise, a huge busy restaurant with buffet but the food was surprisingly good, they even had a pasta station.
Breakfast was not bad either with eggs cooked to order, cereals, jams and toast.
Service
Average, the hotel is too big and busy so impersonal.
